After a late night at the club, I slept late, which was good because staying up so late pretty much guaranteed that I conquered jet-lag in one go. I enjoyed the jacuzzi in my suite, and eventually had to check out. I walked the short distance to the hotel where the group was staying, and ran into Walter and Victor (a couple, and friends who I have traveled with to India last year), who were on a mission to find a piece of luggage because Walter's had burst getting out of the cab at the airport on the way over. I decided to tag along, and afterwards we grabbed a leisurely lunch. We headed back to the hotel and had about an hour of downtime before the meeting which officially started the tour.
At the meeting, we met the rest of the group, introduced ourselves, talked about our expectations of the trip, did some paperwork, and then were off to start our tour! We began by walking to the Blue Mosque, which is so named not because of its outer color, but its inner color. Since this is the holy month of Ramadan, the place was teeming with activity.
We walked around the area and took in some other sights, which included an old column, an obelisk, the Hagia Sofia, and more. We then had dinner, followed by drinks, and then bed!
