Myanmar: Bagan, Day 1

After disembarking our cruise boat, we boarded a bus and started our sightseeing in Bagan. Bagan is the largest archeological site in all of Southeast Asia, which includes Angkor Wat. Most of the 2300+ temples were constructed in the 11th & 12th centuries, which is approximately the same time as Angkor Wat. We visited two temples before checking into our hotel. We had lunch at the hotel, followed by about an hour and a half of downtime. We then met up in the afternoon to continue our exploration. We visited two more temples and then headed to a third that we climbed to the top of to watch the sunset. After sunset, we went to a local restaurant where we are a delicious meal and watched a puppet show. Then we called it an early night because many of us are going hot air ballooning over the 2300+ temples before sunrise tomorrow morning!
