Last Safari Day in Amboseli National Park: Morning Drive

This morning came early and we were up and starting our morning game drive by 6:30. Blake, the other guy on the safari with us, mentioned that during the night he thought he heard lions growling. We didn't think much of it, until about 100 yards from the lodge, our amazing guide, Dennis, spotted lion tracks. He said they were heading away from our lodge, and sure enough, just inside the savannah grass, we saw two female lions.

It was really crazy how well camouflaged they can be!

After watching the lions for a bit (and taking tons of pictures!), we kept going and saw our first warthogs!

We also saw a lot of bird life this morning!

We also saw a huge group of olive baboons out foraging. My favorite was a mother and baby!

Not long after this, we came upon a gazelle fight!

In case you were wondering, the one on the left won! As we kept driving, we saw a huge herd of zebra (actually, according to our guide, a group of zebra is known as a "dazzle" but I don't know if he was pulling our leg or not). I love zebras and think they are funny.

We eventually made it back to the lodge, where we had breakfast. All of this before breakfast! What else does this day have in store for us?!?
