Today I had a lazy morning around the hotel, that was much needed. I got all packed up, and interestingly enough, my bag is lighter and easier to zip up now, and I'm not exactly sure why...
After checking out of the hotel, I went to the Angkor Museum, which held so many artifacts from the pre-Angkor, the Angkor, and post-Angkor periods. Carved Buddhas, naga, Hindu floaty-thing. They were all there. No pictures inside, though.
So then I went to lunch, and against my better judgment, ate at a Mexican restaurant. It turned out to be pretty good, and I didn't suffer any gastro-intestinal issues from it. After that, we went to an artisan cooperative to look at the work they were doing there. I saw several things I wanted, but couldn't justify lugging them around for over two months, so I figure I'll just have to get them on my next trip to Cambodia (which I hope is soon -- in fact, I've already submitted an application to House Hunters International to find me a house on the beach!).
After that, I got dropped off at the airport for my flight to Hanoi. It was on time, and I had the entire front of the plane to myself!!! Immigration in Vietnam was surprisingly efficient and my bag was already on the belt when I got to baggage claim. My guide was there to greet me, and I had about a 40 minute ride to my hotel! Can't wait to start exploring Vietnam tomorrow!!!
(Sorry no pictures today -- no pictures allowed at either of the places I visited!)
