This morning we were up and out of our guesthouse early and on the road making our way to enjoy more of Iceland's amazing natural sites. Our first stop was another glacial lagoon and glacier. Very dramatic, breath-taking vistas.
We then visited another waterfall, which was semi-hidden. You couldn't see it from the main road, but as you got off the main road and drove a little ways it clearly came into view.
We then visited another glacier. Then we stopped at a national park and hiked for almost two hours, stopping at two more waterfalls along the way. We had lunch at the park, and then continued on, stopping at one of the largest lava flows in Iceland as we made our way to basalt columns along the sea.
We then arrived at our hotel tonight, and made a quick stop to the grocery store since we will be leaving before it opens tomorrow and won't have access to a restaurant tomorrow for lunch. Apparently, we are going to be going quite off the beaten path tomorrow! Should be fun!
